News and updates 2010:
20.02.10
New links in the shagya linklist:
This first link was sent to me by Inez Rüppel from Norway. Thank you Inez for your contribution to my site!
Classic Art of Riding by Natascha Howanietz - Shagyas and Lipizzans in Austria at: http://www.klassik-konkret.de/zucht/shagya/
*****
And then Aurelie has sent me yet some more links. I cannot thank you enough for yor continuing support, Aurelie!

Another from the Czeck Republic: Site about Shagya Arabians and endurance riding
at http://www.jkshagya.estranky.cz/
*****
Also, I have found this site about Arabians in sport, where
the participants tend to not even know about the existence of the Shagya Arabian
horses
(i.e. are listing Ramzes AA as a cross between TB and PbA, not mentioning at all
the fact that Jördi, dam of Ramzes AA, was a Shagya Arabian).
So, all Shagya entusiasts, please join the forum and help educate the other
fanciers of Arabian horses about the Shagya Arabians:
http://www.arabiansinsport.org/Home.html
27.01.10
Even here in the new year, Aurelie keep digging up new
links for the list.
Amazing that you keep on doing this, Aurelie. Thank you yet again so much!!

And also in France is "Les Écuries al Djanna" with Shagyas and

From the Chech Republic a site about the stallion "Al Tahir Bin
Salin" at http://www.shagya-arab.tym.cz/
*****
Also, I have decided to list the societies NOT reckognized
by the ISG in different countries, because they still might offer valuable
information on the breed.
However, before an eventual purchase of a Shagya Arabian horse, I urge you to check
out the papers carefully before you make your decision on where to buy.
In the USA there are two socities not reckognizes by the ISG
to my knowledge:
Performance Shagya Registry at http://www.performanceshagyaregistry.org/
Shagya Reigstry at http://shagyaregistry.com/
In Germany there is the society "Shagya Araber Förderverein" (Shagya Arabian Supporters) at http://www.shagya-araber-foerderverein.de/

***
This is really not an update like the others, but rather a
hint from me, as I want to draw your attention to the "Shagya Info
Site", which is already listed in the linklist (http://www.shagya.info/).
If you choose "Info" from the main menu of
the site, then click "Gestüte / haras / stud farms", you
will find a complete list of all the historic European stud farms including a
short description.
Here you find all the most important contributors to the Shagya Arabian
foundation and preservation, but also stud farms that were breeding other breeds
than the Shagyas are included
Unfortunately the list is only in German, but it gives a very clear
understanding of how widespread the Shagya breeding is and has been, and that
the breed was not only bred in Babolna, Radautz and Topolcianky,
like some people seem to believe, but was bred in some of the Romanian stud
farms, some of the Polnish - in many stud farms from all over the "Double
Monarchy".
Recommended reading for any Shagya enthusiast!

Also I want to say that the ISG Symposium in Futterkamp

Interesting topics, wonderful horses, nice atmosphere - and lots of interesting

28.03.09
The first entry here from my new home in Jutland.
A lot of things have been going on in my life over the past few months, new
home, new job, new friends.
I have really met some wonderful people, warm and positive, and i look so much
forward to getting to know them even better.
Unfortunaly, Carmen has gotten her third attack of laminitis, and this time
pretty serious.
For the moment, she seems to be improving. I am crossing my fingers so hard that
she will make it this time too.
The dogs have settled in just fine, enjoying our walks in the beautiful areas around here, and now spring is just around the corner (I hope!), they will be able to enjoy the sunshine and summer in the garden.
I know I need to make some photos, but I am waiting for a
little sunshine - and a weekend, where I have the time to get some taken..
But within long, I promise! :-)
***
A few weeks ago I received an email from Belgium, listing a
number of Shagya related websites missing in my link list.
Though I don't have any Belgian entries yet, I am still grateful for this list,
which I have added today as well.
Thank you very much Aurélie! Please stay in touch!
The first site that is added to my list however, didn't
come from Aurélie, but from Carin Weiss, informing me that ISG
(International Shagya Gesellschaft) has got a completely new website,
containing among lots of other interesting Shagya stuff, updated info about the
ISG Conference in Futterkamp, Germay, June 12th-14th.
Please get back to this site often to keep updated on this important event! http://www.shagya-araber.info/

I cannot believe, I have forgotten to add the link to
"my" Akita club - the "Japan Akita e.V." in Germany.

and went online short after at http://www.japan-akita.de/

The new link is added in the Shagya Link list.

Shagya Studfarm "Familie
Hemmer" in Austria has a new website!
The link is now corrected in the Shagya Link list
*******
January:
I wish you all a very happy
new year!
Let's hope 2009 gets far better in every aspect, than the past few years have been!
I have decided to remove the Akita Health section from the site, as no one has shown any interest in the information for years, and it hasn't been updated with new information or any new dogs for even longer.
Due to my new life circumstances as a
single, I will have to make some changes to how I spent my time, so I will
probably have even less time to keep this site updated at least for a start,
which is another reason for me to not continue with the
Health Database.
Thank you to everyone, who contributed with information on their dogs over the years!
The first major event for myself in 2009
will be starting over with my new life in Jutland.
New job and a new home for my self and my fourlegged friends.
Because of this, I will be pretty occupied over the next weeks, so please bear
with me, if I am not answering your mails as soon as usual.

Due to some private circumstances there will
be some major changes in my life over the next few months, what the horses and

So the website will probably be put on "hold" for a while.

Some of the pages are being updated regularly, some with new horses, some with
new results - but all worth paying an extra visit....
Also, the urls to some pages are changed over time, and in these cases I do not
list the page here, as I do not consider it a new link, but rather an update to

Also, Djacar came home this Sunday to spent some time
adjusting to his new life as a gelding in a small herd with his mum and auntie.
I was a little excited about how he would react to becoming member of a herd
again, since he has been living as a "single horse" since last june,
where he started playing a bit too roughly with his then stablemate, another
youg stallion.
But everything has been just great, he spends the day with the girls in their
pasture, and then he spends the evenings and nights in his box in the stable,
where he has to be alone, as the girls are still spending the time in their open stable, where
they are used to be.
As Djacar hasn't grown as much of a wintercoat as they
have, I prefer to "put him into bed at night", so it doesn't get too
cold for him. At least until either he has adjusted to the outdoor life - or
till spring arrives, whichever comes first.
The plan is to start a bit of work with him in the spring, and then I hope to find him a nice home, where all his mental and physical qualities will be appreciated as he deserves.
Hope to be able to take some new photos soon of both our new farm, the horses and the dogs pretty soon... just need a little time and sunshine (or maybe even snow?)
